Lynn Plourde visits Loranger to talk about her graphic novel, "Lost Trail."

Maine children’s book author Lynn Plourde visited with grade 4-6 students here today!  She shared her writing process for  “Lost Trail: Nine Days Alone in the Wilderness,” her graphic novel written with Donn Fendler and illustrated by Ben Bishop.
Plourde has had twenty-eight children’s books published, including her newest “You’re Wearing THAT to School?!” Plourde’s other books include “Pigs in the Mud in the Middle of the Rud,” “Moose, of Course!” “Dino Pets,” and “Lost Trail,” the 2013 Maine Student Book Award winner and a graphic novel co-authored with Donn Fendler. Video read-alouds, learning activities, and a blog on teaching writing are available on her www.lynnplourde.com website. Plourde is a Skowhegan native who currently lives in Winthrop with her husband, Paul Knowles.

Lynn spoke first to the fourth grade.  They were very interested!
Lynn used a document camera to show the students how she did the research.
The students asked many questions!
Title 1 students received signed copies of "Lost Trail!"
